Computer Response Centre Pty Ltd (CRC) is a Systems Integration company assisting clients both in the corporate and education markets with the design, supply, implementation and support of their computer network systems. CRC recognises the importance and is strongly committed to protecting your privacy while interacting with our products and services. We want a safe and secure environment for both our clients, their employees as well as the students and staff at the schools with whom we work.
Computer Response Centre, like other companies operating in Australia, is bound by the National Privacy Principles as set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.
For the purposes of this Privacy Statement the word client includes our customers, visitors to our web site, users of our services, purchases of our products and will also include our business partners, contractors and suppliers
Personal Information
In establishing relationships between our clients and CRC, we will need to gather personal information about your organisation including contacts, email addresses, bank account details, web site, etc., directly from you or your staff, which will allow us to purchase and supply products as well as provide services to your organisation.
In providing our services at your site, CRC will also at times have access to certain “Confidential” and in some instances “Sensitive” information, which if divulged to third parties, may impact on your business or jeopardise the privacy of the management or the employees. This also applies where services are being provided to a school or college, where personal information about staff and students if divulged, could jeopardise a person’s privacy.
Examples of the types of “Confidential” information to which CRC may have access will include but is not limited to, business financial records, personal information, employee records, employee emails and email addresses, private folders and files held on the computer systems. CRC will also have access to user names and passwords for the servers, workstations and other computer peripherals.
Use of your Personal Information
The personal information you provide CRC may be used for a number of purposes connected with our business operations, which include:
- provision of services on behalf of your organisation;
- processing your orders or applications;
- carrying out credit checking and scoring (unless we have agreed otherwise);
- providing you with products and/or services requested;
- billing you or administering your account;
- dealing with requests, enquiries or complaints and other customer care related activities;
- carrying out market and product analysis and marketing our products and services generally;
- contacting you about our company’s products and services;
- carrying out any activity in connection with a legal, governmental or regulatory requirement on us or in connection with legal proceedings, crime or fraud prevention, detection or prosecution.
Security of your Personal Information
CRC will not sell, rent or lease your personal information to others.
CRC will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete, up-to-date and stored in a secure environment protected from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
CRC will also take reasonable steps to ensure that the “Confidential” and “Sensitive” information accessed by CRC technical staff will not be used by CRC’s employees, contractors, agents or representatives, directly or indirectly, for the benefit of any person, entity or organization other than the organisation to whom that information belongs without prior written authorization of the Senior Management of that organisation, the School Principal or a member of the school’s Senior Executive. This policy in relation to a client will remain in force during and/or after the term of engagement, for as long as such information retains the characteristics of being Confidential Information.
Accessing your Personal Information
As a client you have the right to seek access to your personal information held by CRC.
Upon your request and within a reasonable time frame, CRC will take steps to advise you the personal information that we hold and for what purposes and how we collect, use and disclose that information. CRC will also provide you with access to your personal information held by us provided that request is made within a reasonable time frame. There are limited circumstances/ exceptions where this may be refused, including law enforcement or other public interests.
